Biography

Jacqueline practices in the areas of labor and employment. She represents employees and unions before the National Labor Relations Board concerning employees' rights to engage in protected concerted activities, representation proceedings, and post-hearing motion practice. Her past experience as a field examiner with the National Labor Relations Board has given her the insight to effectively represent clients before the NLRB. Within the employment context, she advocates for workers' rights, including their right to be free from discrimination in their workplaces and protecting the rights of public sector employees. She represents employees in all aspects of litigation and in administrative proceedings, such as with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Industrial Commission of Arizona.

In addition to her labor and employment practice, Jacqueline also practices in all aspects of family law, assisting clients through their divorce and custody proceedings. She provides every family law client with the respect and attention required through difficult proceedings. She also represents clients in private adoption proceedings. As an adoptive parent, she has personal experience in the adoption process, allowing her to provide the highest level of service to help adoptive families navigate through adoption requirements.

Prior to co-founding Barton Mendez Soto PLLC, Jacqueline served as in-house counsel of labor affairs for U-Haul International, Inc. and was an associate with the labor and employment section of Snell & Wilmer LLP. After obtaining her law degree, Jacqueline had the honor of serving as judicial law clerk at the Arizona Court of Appeals for the Honorable Ann A. Scott Timmer, who now serves on the Arizona Supreme Court.
