Jim Barton and Jacqueline Mendez Soto founded Barton Mendez Soto in 2021 to fight for a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Their vision was, as is, to pursue equity and justice for historically marginalized and exploited individuals and communities.  That means that they protect and expand individual rights by supporting political action by activists, ballot measure committees, and labor organizations (whether in court, designing a campaign, or developing organizational strategies) and by representing employees in court to hold employers accountable for unjust actions in the workplace. The point is this: Barton Mendez Soto has a singular focus on equity and justice, meaning they are free from conflicts with monied interests and eager to pursue causes others avoid.
