Arizona Retaliation Attorneys
The laws prohibiting discrimination and harassment also prohibit retaliation by your employer for your efforts to stop the discrimination. For example, you have a legally protected right to file a charge of discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or internally with your human resources department. You cannot be retaliated against for testifying or participating in the investigations or proceedings related to a charge of discrimination. You are also protected against retaliation if you speak up in defense of someone being discriminated.
Employees frequently come to us once they have been the victims of retaliation. Bravely, they confront the discrimination at work, but then suffer an adverse employment action, such as termination, demotion or non-promotion, transfer, or a series of harassing actions to pressure the employee into resigning. Before you resign, ensure you speak with one of our attorneys so that you can be advised on your options.
